Rotor Pumps performance and operating procedures

Rotary Rotor Pumps, also known as colloid pumps, cam pumps, three blade pumps, universal transport pumps, etc., belong to the category of volumetric pumps. It achieves the purpose of conveying fluid through the periodic conversion of multiple fixed volume conveying units in the working chamber. The mechanical energy of the electric motor is directly converted into the pressure energy of the conveying fluid through the pump. The flow rate of the pump only depends on the change value of the working chamber volume and its frequency of change per unit time, and (theoretically) is not related to the discharge pressure; The Lobe pumps actually operates through a pair of synchronously rotating rotors. The rotor is driven by a pair of synchronous gears inside the box, and the rotor rotates synchronously in the opposite direction driven by the main and auxiliary shafts. Change the volume of the pump, resulting in a higher vacuum and discharge pressure. Rotary lobe pumps are especially suitable for conveying sanitary grade media and corrosive, high viscosity media.

1. Performance

1.1 The spare parts in contact with the conveying materials in the rotor pump are made of stainless steel materials that meet hygiene standards, and their sealing components are made of non-toxic rubber. Reliable rust prevention and non-toxic sealing ensure safety and hygiene.

1.2 The streamline structure of the rotor and the absence of dead spots and non-metallic parts in the rotor chamber prevent contamination of the transported material.

1.3 Suitable for on-site CIP cleaning and steam disinfection, fully meeting the requirements of FDA regulations and pharmaceutical grade (GMP) regulations in the United States.

1.4 It is especially suitable for conveying media with high viscosity, high concentration and any particles that are easy to form foam in the process of retransmission. The conveyed materials will maintain their original quality without any physical and chemical reaction.

1.5 It adopts an external dynamic and static ring mechanical seal, which can be directly washed with water, is resistant to high pressure, is not easy to wear, and has no leakage.

1.6 Small volume, large flow rate, high head pressure, suitable for long-distance and high resistance quantitative transportation.

1.7 The impeller of the pump is separated from the transmission gear, and a certain gap is ensured between various parts in the pump chamber, without contact, wear, low noise, good reliability, long service life, energy conservation and consumption reduction.

1.8 After configuring the frequency converter, the flow can be adjusted freely and can be used as a general metering pump.

1.9 It can transport three-phase mixed materials such as steam, liquid, and solid. The viscosity of the medium that can be transported can reach up to 1000000CP and the slurry with a solid content of 55%.

2. Use precautions and operating procedures

2.1 Precautions before starting:

Checking whether the oil level in the gearbox is normal, observing the transparent oil gauge, the oil level should be half of the oil gauge window. The lubricating oil should be replaced regularly, and generally, all should be replaced after 4000 hours of operation.

Before starting, open all inlet and outlet valves of the pipeline. When the medium flows into the chamber and there is no abnormality after manually rotating the pump, it can be jogged first. Only after confirming the pump direction and medium flow can the formal operation begin. It is strictly prohibited to run the pump empty. After the pump reaches normal speed, observe the pressure indicator of the pump.

When there is a suction requirement for the pump installation position, the inlet pipeline and pump cavity of the pump should be filled with materials.

When the process requires heating or cooling the medium, the heating or cooling device should be turned on before starting the pump. The heating energy should be turned on 10 minutes in advance before starting the pump.

Rotor pumps equipped with a mechanical seal for cooling water must first turn on the cooling water before starting, and ensure that there is no interruption of flow after starting, otherwise the mechanical seal will be immediately damaged.

2.2 Operation

2.2.1 During the operation of the pump, attention should be paid to the motor power and pump operation. If there are any abnormalities, the pump should be stopped to find the cause.

2.2.2 Mechanical seal should have no leakage or heating.

2.2.3 For pumps with packing seals, 1-3 drops per minute are allowed. If the leakage increases slightly, the material ring can be tightened without disassembly.

2.2.4 When using a mechanical continuously variable transmission, gradually adjust the speed according to the digital display after starting the machine. It is strictly prohibited to rotate the speed control plate during shutdown, otherwise it will damage the infinite reducer.

2.2.5 There are two methods for using frequency converters for speed regulation: manual frequency regulation and automatic control.

2.2.6 Regularly check the heating condition of the pump and motor. When the pump is in a water cooled state, the bearing temperature rises to 40 ℃. When the pump is in a hot water insulation state, the temperature of the bearing seat is allowed to be 30 higher than the temperature of the pump body.

2.2.7 The valve of the inlet pipeline cannot be used to adjust the flow rate to avoid cavitation and pump vibration.

2.2.8 It is strictly prohibited to close all inlet and outlet valves when the pump is running.


3.Stop

3.1 Stop the Homogeneous Pumps or Lobe Pumps, and close the inlet and outlet valves, discharge and clean materials easy to condensate.

3.2 After the pump out of service for a long time, manually turn the coupling before starting. Although there is resistance, it can rotate freely and evenly. And pay attention to distinguishing whether there are friction sounds and foreign objects inside the pump.

3.3 When reinstalling the pump and reducer motor, the coaxiality of the pump shaft and motor shaft should be checked, and the position of the outer circle of the coupling should not exceed 0.1mm, otherwise it may cause pump vibration and affect the service life of the main shaft.
